2026 Cadillac driver lineup soon to be revealed

Cadillac are a new F1 team joining the sport in 2026, taking the Ferrari engine and will eventually build their own for 2028 with General Motors on board and being led by Graeme Lowdon the team are looking to make a statement first season in the peak of motorsport.

There has been endless rumours flying about who the drivers will be and according to multiple sources names like: Drugovich, Dunne, Pourchaire, Tsunoda, Crawford, Zhou and Schumacher have been suggested that there have at least been talks to join the American outfit.

However, 2 names have always been in the conversation and in the past, speculation had bought forward the idea of Cadillac having 1 experienced driver and 1 rookie to take up their lineup but more recently it is more likely that they may go with 2 experienced heads to fully generate maximum feedback on the car from people who have been around for a while.

Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas are the candidates to take the spots.

Bottas, being released from Sauber at the end of last year and landing a reserve driver role at his old and most successful team Mercedes AMG and a reserve spot for Mclaren too and with experience with the Ferrari engine looks very likely to take a spot unless Alpine look to highjack him over Colapinto. Bottas still has a 5 place grid penalty to serve if he gets the place for an incident involving him and Kevin Magnussen in Abu Dhabi 2024.

Perez was essentially fired from Redbull after constant bad results mid season and towards the end of the year and now has fully taken time away from F1 and apparently just wants a stable contract before he makes a formal return even though Cadillac are not expected to be a top team.

The Race made a youtube video looking at 2026 driver lineups and included the pair for the Cadillac drives and with 16x F1 wins between them this lineup looks the most likely and will be confirmed later this season.
