Dutch Grand Prix Practice 2 Round-up

Second Practice at the Dutch Grand Prix started off with a hefty crash for Aston Martins Lance Stroll. After looking good in FP1 with A P3 result, Lance suffered a lock up at turn 3 and clattered the wall on the outside of the banked corner and was lucky he did not hurt his hand as he kept his hands on the steering wheel on impact.

-This incident happened to Daniel Riccardo back in 2023 when Piastri hit the wall and Daniel not wanting to hit him went into the wall too but the impact thrusted his hand and broke it. He had just come back to F1 after being dropped for De Vries and then had to be replaced by current Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson-

A lengthy red flag followed and when they went green Isack Hadjar reported "no power" in his RB and was forced to stop on track and retire just on the outside of turn 8. This resulted in a Virtual Safety Car.

The session resumed again and with about half of the time remaining, Lewis Hamilton suffered another spin on the exit of turn 9 after having mass understeer into the corner and getting on the dust and grass on the outside of the corner and losing the rear.

Kimi Antonelli dipped a wheel into the gravel on the exit of turn 13, looking for a clean session after beaching his W16 in FP1. He was caught going slowly by Alonso earlier on and the Spaniard expressing his opinion "Antonelli's blind." Charles Leclerc felt Tsunoda was erratic driving at turn 13 too but then gave dirty air to Albon going into turn 11 sending the Thai driver off into the gravel.

A massive moment going into the pit lane from Piastri after he attempted to go to Norris' pit crew but then backing out and going around them to his crew. This caught George Russell out and the Aussie nearly hit Russell as he spewed back into the pit lane. This resulted in McLaren receiving a €5000 fine.

With 20 minutes to go, Alex Albon locked the front right going into Turn 1 similar to Russell and Verstappen in FP1 and went straight on, sliding through the gravel, into the barrier and braking the front wing and then proceeded to beach his Williams and that was the end of his session.

Again, it was Lando Norris setting the pace at the front with a 1.09.890 just ahead of P2 man Fernando Alonso with a difference of just 9 hundredths (0.087) and Piastri also 0.089 behind teammate Norris in P3
