Azerbaijan Grand Prix Practice 3 Round-up

Practice 3 for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix was met with harsh wind conditions reported by Hadjar as he explained "the wind is pushing me to the right on the straights" over the team radio. Ollie bearman had a few moments early, going straight on at turn 1 and locking up at turn 4 too. 


Hamilton looked to pick up from where he left off and started the day with going wide over the raised kerb of turn 17 with teammate Leclerc also having a big snap of oversteer into the same turn and going off track on his fast lap. Hamilton also went straight on at turn 3 on his next go which compromised his run plan but managed to get a lap on the board which was provisional P1 for now a 1.42.988.

Bortoleto was another rookie who was having an off session finding himself straight on at turn 3, locking up his left front and having the same action happen again at turn 16 later on. Piastri had another session of Norris but managed to take Hamiltons P1 spot for a little while, gaining a slipstream of Alonso ahead, across the line, 1.5 tenths ahead of Sainz who put in a good lap for P2 at the time.

Pierre Gasly struggled in FP3, clipping the inside wall of turn 6 and reported he was having some issues with his thumb. He also attempted another go on hard tyres and slid his way through turn 1 and having to aboard the lap, going straight on. Williams ans Racing Bulls were looking solid towards the end of the session on the C6 soft compound P5 and P6 for Albon and Sainz, P8 and P9 for Hadjar and Lawson who suffered a spin mid corner of turn 17 but no damage done.

Norris stormed to the top of the times, setting a really competitive time of a 1.41.223 , 5 tenths clear of Verstappen and Albon. Teammate Piastri had a huge amount of oversteer at turn 4 and abandons his quick lap on soft and then went straight on at turn 1 on his second go. Some more victims of the Baku City street circuit were Albon going on at turn 4, Norris at turn 1, Ocon and Leclerc going straight on at turn 3 at the same time, one after another, eventually getting themselves back on track.

As the flag fell, Norris secured P1, followed by Verstappen still and Piastri who managed to improve his lap in P3. Hamilton P4 and Antonelli in P5 ahead of Russell in P6 who was complaining about "rear locking every corner".

Redbull Racing looking likely to keep same driver lineup aswell as sister team VCARB for 2026

Formula 1 team Redbull Racing are widely known for their ruthless driver changes over the years and if a driver is underperforming, they will be easily replaced with the phrase "anyone is replaceable" living up to expectation, even in the peak of motorsport. In 2025, Redbull were at it again and within 2 races Liam Lawson was replaced by VCARB driver Yuki Tsunoda just before Tsunoda's home race in Suzuka , Japan with Lawson returning to the sister team. Liam, who finished 20th and last in both Chinese sprint qualifying and main Grand Prix qualifying was believed to have been "mentally struggling" with the Redbull car according to Rebull mechanics which is famously rumoured to be built around the 4x World Champion Max Verstappen who also has a very aggressive driving style which any other driver cannot match on the grid.                                              ...

Dutch Grand Prix Round-up

The Dutch Grand Prix was one of the most dramatic races of the season, from DNFS, to rain, to another rookie podium, Netherlands cooked up a a storm of a race and something arguably the fans needed to keep the energy alive for the 2025 season. Even before the race had started, Lewis Hamilton was picked up for a yellow flag infringement meaning that he did not slow down under the yellow flags on the reconnaissance laps to the grid and this was investigated after the race and he was unfortunately given a 5 place grid penalty to serve at monza, something the tifosi will not be happy about and the race was arguably worse for Ferrari too. With Ollie Bearman starting from the pits after taking a new engine, lap 1 was underway and Norris has a slightly better start than Piastri but in the second phase, got cut across by him and had no where to go, leaving the door nicely open to soft runner Verstappen to take the place and up he went to P2.
