Formula 1 announces the 6 Sprint races for the 2026 season

Despite interest from F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali to increase the number of sprint races in the future, Formula 1 have announced that there will still be the 6 races added to the calendar on certain weekends.

Formula 1 first introduced sprint races to the calendar in 2021, with just the 3 events that year. However, this has seen an increase from 3 to 6 in 2023 to the present day.

The 2026 sprint race events will be at the following events: Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, round 2. Miami Grand Prix, round 6. Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, round 7. British Grand Prix in Silverstone, round 11. Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort, round 14 and The Singapore Grand Prix in Marina Bay, round 18.

The Netherlands Grand Prix will be removed of the F1 calendar after 2026 so this race is to mark the end of an era from making a return in 2021 to the finale in 2026.

Netherlands aswell as Canada and Singapore will make their debut to the sprint races in Formula 1 history.
