Formula 1 set to increase the cost cap for 2026

The new era for Formula 1 in 2026 is set to be introducing an expansion to the current cost cap the teams have.

At the moment the cost cap sits at $135 million (USD) and will see a significant rise to $215m (£159.6m) to reflect the new regulations as well as taking into account other associated costs.

It also gives teams more chance to increase salaries internally and more mid-season development to get used to the new era of Formula 1.
