Singapore Grand Prix Practice Round-up
Free practice 1 for the Singapore Grand Prix started off with a brake fire for Alex Albon in the Williams. The Thai driver only completing 2 exploratory laps before having to retire from the session.
George Russell had his own drama at turn 16, causing a red flag by locking up the rear tyres and going straight into the tech pro barriers, ripping of his front wing and managing to crawl back to the pitlane, his car however, had more damage and that was the end of his practice on Friday.
As the green flag fell shortly after, Liam Lawson was another victim of the streets of Singapore, pushing too hard out of turn 17, understeer turned into oversteer and hitting the wall too hard, tearing off his front right wheel and stopping in the pit entry, bringing out the 2nd red flag. Piastri finished on top with Hadjar and Verstappen on his tail.
Free practice 3 for the Singapore Grand Prix started with Liam Lawson having his 2nd incident of the weekend, dropping it on the kerb of turn 7 and losing the car, straight into the wall, the Kiwi really apologetic on the radio after missing most of fp2, Lawson really on the back foot for qualifying.
Norris got in the way of Sainz as he was on the racing line down into turn 11. Sainz locked up into turn 14 too, going straight on and avoiding a crash into the barriers. Williams teammate Albon also choosing to go down an escape road at turn 16. Both Ferraris found traffic down at turn 16 , Leclerc finding Stroll and Hamilton finding Tsunoda, all drivers fighting for track position.
Pierre Gasly took to the escape road at turn 14 after a lock up from his front right tyre, avoiding any collision with the barrier if he tried to turn into the sharp corner. Antonelli had a big slide turn 1, trying to keep the momentum going from Baku. Ollie Bearman going on at turn 7.
Lando Norris had a wobble in the turn 16, 17 chicane and his teammate grazing the wall at turn 17. The Australian found Hamilton at turn 1 and said "Ferrari will invented mirrors one day, i hope". Not long later Bortoleto felt his was blocked on his fast lap by the McLaren man. Alonso topped free practice 1, the Aston looking quick around the streets of Marina Bay. He was followed by Leclerc and Verstappen.
Free practice 2 for the Singapore Grand Prix was a very stop-start session for everyone and it started with Lando Norris brushing the walls of turn 17, with Bearman and Hulkenburg having moments there too but just keeping it out the walls, rally esc drifting through the penultimate corner of the racetrack.
Bortoleto felt he was blocked again, by an Alpine this time around the last few corners expressing his opinion "it turns night time and they get ******* blind!" The big drama of fp2 came from the pitlane with both McLarens being released into the fast lane and fractionally later, Ferrari too. It was to little to late though and Leclerc, not even realising, drove into Norris and broke his front wing, putting him into the pitlane wall.

In the dying seconds of practice the Argentine almost put Max Verstappen into the wall as they both tried to get out of the way for Gasly who was pushing down into turn 14, Colapinto going a bit too right though, Verstappen lucky to come out unscaved.
Verstappen got the best over everyone at the end of the session, P1 for the Dutchman, with Piastri, Russell and Antonelli all within a tenth of him going into qualifying under the lights.
